Electra ISD board expands superintendent procurement and temporary hiring authority
Trustees raised the superintendent's procurement authority to $100,000 and granted temporary hiring authority for non-administrative contracted positions from April through August 2026; both motions passed unanimously.

The board voted to increase Superintendent Don Hasley's procurement authority to a $100,000 maximum to align with SB 1173. "A motion to raise Superintendent's procurement authority to match SB 1173 to max $100,000 to align with new requirements, currently $25,000 limit on the former cap of $50,000 CH (local) was made by Richard Lacher and seconded by Shane Robey—passed unanimously, 6-0," the minutes state.
