The Board of Mayes County Commissioners voted unanimously on July 17, 2026 to terminate Mayes County 911 Call Center Director Steve Vanhorn without cause. Commissioner Alva Martin moved for termination, Commissioner Steve Grossman seconded, and Commissioners Martin, Grossman and Randy Pierce each voted "Yes." The action followed an executive session cited under OKLA. STAT. tit 25 § 307(B)(1).
