Committee advances bill criminalizing illegal electronic gambling devices with nuisance-abatement tools

The committee recommended SB3281 with amendments to broaden nuisance-abatement tools (lock orders, receivership and owner-notice obligations), require written notice and create a compliance safe harbor for owners and property managers. Gabe Huntington from the Prosecuting Attorney’s office urged the committee to avoid a definition that would create a loophole for so-called 'fish games' and suggested including them in an exemplary list of gambling devices.
