Contractor flags major constructability issues with Master Plan loop trail near retention pond
A trail-construction contractor told the board that the Master Plan routing between the water treatment plant and retention pond would require major terrain build-up and fencing to prevent falls, and recommended rerouting the loop west below the water plant toward the dog-park area.

A trail-construction contractor reviewed the loop trail alignment in the Fort Hardy Park Master Plan and reported significant constructability problems for the segment between the water treatment plant and the retention pond. The contractor explained that building up the terrain and installing fencing to keep pedestrians from falling into the pond would be extensive and therefore impractical as currently drawn.
