Monty Hankins, Elbert County Public Works director, updated the board on flood-response work following intense storms Aug. 13–15. He said crews regraded and regraveled stretches of county roads where water topped the surface, replaced a handful of culverts, and temporarily halted larger projects like the County Road 125 rebuild and an asphalt patching schedule so crews could address immediate flood damage.
