Staff from Planning and Zoning presented a recommended update to the county's conditional‑use permit process at an April work session. The draft would modify when a CUP is required: suggested changes included removing a five‑acre threshold in some cases, not requiring a CUP for modular or stick‑built homes on one‑acre or larger already‑established lots, and clarifying that health‑department approvals and standard permits must be obtained before placement. Planning staff said they would forward the draft to County Attorney Bin Minter for legal review before returning it to the board for further discussion.
