Commission unanimously approves five conditional‑use permits at Feb. 27 called meeting

The commission met in a special called meeting on Feb. 27 and unanimously approved five conditional‑use permits that had been the subject of Feb. 24 public hearings and preceding work‑session discussion. Approved CUPs include: Walter Miller (454 Old Louvale Rd., carve 1.35 acres from a 52‑acre tract for a long‑term tenant), Mia & Derico Countryman (201 Massey Rd., 0.74‑acre lot for a stick‑built home), Julie Wooten (711 GA Hwy 26, 18.11 acres to place a mobile home), Sierra Smith (109 Nelson St., replace unsafe stick‑built home with mobile home on 0.75 acre), and Curtis Stroud Jr. (136 Patty Dr., replace older mobile home on 0.46 acre).

Each approval was entered with standard conditions: plat signing by Planning & Zoning where applicable, compliance with county building and flood codes, and required health‑department permitting (septic inspections). Chairman Coffey reminded applicants that approvals do not waive other permitting requirements; County Manager Thomas Weaver advised applicants to consult the health department before making significant purchases or investments.
