County CFO reports progress on capital projects and improving pension funded ratio

Crystal Simpson, the county CFO, summarized recent capital work and long-term funding obligations. She reported roughly $2.4 million of completed capital projects and nearly $9–10 million of approved projects in process. Simpson said the county has been transferring vacancy savings into the capital projects fund (about $2.5 million currently) to avoid using bond proceeds for smaller projects.
