River Ridge reports active drainage projects; crews working evenings and Saturdays

District Engineer Charlie Krebs told the Board that "all four sites are under construction; sites are cleared and silt fences were installed," and outlined a schedule that would place pipe installation in Oak Run the week of June 29 and likely sod installation the week of July 2. Krebs said Palmetto Dunes is expected to be completed by the end of the week and, if grading is finished, the project could be completed by the end of July.

The Board discussed tree removals and replacements — a total of twelve affected trees in Palmetto Dunes (mostly slash pines and two red maples), declining Royal Poinciana replacements, and six Cabbage Palms to be removed and replanted in Oak Run. Mr. Krebs said staff will keep a log of additional costs, including Passarella’s pre‑construction environmental review required by the South Florida Water Management District, and will provide the log in the next agenda packet. An air‑conditioning coolant line damaged during clearing was repaired and the cost will be covered from contingency funds.

Staff noted some neighborhood irrigation pipes will need repair and that crews are working extended hours — until 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays — to meet the schedule. The Board asked staff to monitor whether encroaching Canna lilies will affect the golf course and to report back with prioritized lake‑bank and drainage work listings.
