Giovanni Romero, representing Venue22 of 661 Main Street, presented a proposal to Slatington Borough Council offering to pursue federal and other grant funding on the borough’s behalf and to run year-round event programming for youth, seniors, families, police, fire and small businesses. Romero described Venue22 as an event-based business for parties and community events and said the firm would “do all the ‘heavy lifting’” — writing grants, tracking attendance, drafting reports and submitting invoices — while the borough retained final legal oversight and approval.
