The Manchester City Council on Aug. 17 acknowledged a vacancy created by the passing of Councilmember Marsha Chartrand on Aug. 4, 2026, and approved a timetable to fill the seat under the City Charter. Mayor Patricia K. Vailliencourt and council members agreed on an application deadline and interview schedule to ensure the appointee will serve the remainder of Chartrand's term, which runs through November 2028.
