The Devers Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously on June 5, 2025, to retain the law firm Leon Alcala, PLLC after an executive-session consultation. Gradee Davis moved and Matt Horelica seconded the motion "to approve retaining the law firm of Leon Alcala, PLLC," which carried with all five trustees present voting in favor.
