Environmental health staff presented an overview of Arapahoe County's retail food inspection program, noting the county operates under delegated authority from the state under the Food Protection Act. Staff said the department licenses approximately 2,300 retail food establishments and roughly 300 mobile units; in FY2025 the field staff conducted about 3,100 inspections across establishments and events.
