Board adopts new utility billing adjustment policy clarifying loss rules
The Village adopted Resolution No. 2026-04 to standardize utility billing adjustments, clarifying adjustments are permitted only for water that does not enter the sewer system and that leaks such as toilet defects are not eligible under PSC rules.

The Board adopted Resolution No. 2026-04 on May 13, 2026 to implement a Utility Billing Adjustment Policy that updates prior inconsistent practices. The Clerk explained a 2008 policy had been applied inconsistently and that Public Service Commission rules prohibit adjustments for water lost through toilets because that water still enters the sewer system and must be treated.
