The Board of Commissioners adopted a proclamation at its Jan. 7 meeting honoring James Edward “Jimmy” Lawrence for decades of public service to Cusseta–Chattahoochee County. The proclamation notes Lawrence’s service as an assessor from March 2006 to December 2008 and as a county commissioner in terms spanning 2009–2019. Lawrence died on Dec. 5, 2024.
