Board approves expulsion, multiple resolutions and contract changes; payroll reported

The Fillmore Unified School District board took several formal actions at its May meeting, including personnel, fiscal and contract approvals.

Student discipline: The board approved the administrative recommendation to expel the student in case number 25‑26‑08. The approval was unanimous on roll call (5–0).

Payroll and donations: Trustees ratified certificated and classified payroll for April 2026 in the amount of $3,663,659.37. The board accepted three donations: $701.72 (anonymous) to the district main donation account, $100 to Mountain Vista Elementary Student Activities Fund from Maria Garcia Tacos, and $886.56 to San Cayetano Elementary for staff appreciation; the motion passed 5–0.

Fiscal resolutions: The board adopted Resolution 25‑26‑22 authorizing temporary interfund loans for FY 2026–27, and Resolution 25‑26‑23 approving appropriation transfers to expedite transactions. Both passed unanimously. Trustees also approved Resolution 25‑26‑24 reserving authority to grant compensation improvements after July 1, 2026 for certain non‑represented employee categories (confidential, supervisory, management), motion passed 5–0.

Contracts and change orders: The board approved change orders totaling $97,532.04 for the Fillmore High School Career Center (adjusted contract $2,491,595.30, a 7.9% increase to date reported in the staff presentation) and approved change orders totaling $43,551.67 for the Fillmore High School Athletic Complex (adjusted contract $26,843,758.78). The board accepted a proposed bid of $1,247,000 from AMG and Associates Inc. for HVAC and shade projects at Fillmore Middle School.
