Authority approves FAA-required Safety Management System (SMS) implementation plan
The board approved Resolution No. 25 accepting a draft SMS Implementation Plan prepared by Delta Airport Consultants; the plan must be fully implemented within 36 months of FAA approval and will be submitted to the FAA.

The Lancaster Airport Authority approved the draft LNS SMS (Safety Management System) Implementation Plan prepared by Delta Airport Consultants and authorized its submission to the Federal Aviation Administration for final approval. The minutes state aircraft operations at Lancaster Airport have exceeded 100,000 operations in multiple years and the FAA has required the Authority to create and implement an SMS plan as a result.
