PRMC leaders outline liquidity plan, say billing accuracy has improved

Beeler Consulting lead consultant Bob Copal and interim CEO Bret Koleman gave commissioners a public update on the Pratt Regional Medical Center's finances, operations and staffing, saying the immediate challenge is a liquidity crisis rather than long-term viability. Copal reported that clean claims — the share of claims processed without rework — have improved "from approximately 40% to 94%," and that management is closely monitoring cash collections, the line of credit and accounts payable.

Coleman and Copal said the next 60 days are critical because of ongoing paid-time-off payouts and other near-term expenses. They described a plan to reduce roughly $17.3 million in obligations by about $2 million over six months, cut travel and contract staffing by about 50% from July levels, and shift current employees into open positions when possible rather than relying on large-scale layoffs. They proposed a public follow-up update in 60–90 days and said management will produce a one-page financial dashboard showing key indicators and warning signs.
