Polk commissioners clear six expedited land-use and code changes, including new Main Street Corridor category
On unanimous votes the board adopted six expedited land-use items (N1'N6) including a land-use map change for Shimmering Drive, a companion LDC text amendment, an industrial map change with voluntary restrictions, a broader LDC amendment addressing signage and landscaping, a new Main Street Corridor land-use category, and a Goldenrod Lane subdistrict change for residential density.

Polk County staff presented six expedited public hearing items to the board on July 21; each item had received a unanimous recommendation from the planning commission and no public opposition was present at the expedited hearings.
