Bristol extends Village Administrator Randy Kerkman's contract for three years amid public questions

The Village Board voted to approve a three-year extension to Village Administrator Randy Kerkman's employment agreement, with trustees voting unanimously to adopt the measure that the board characterized as extending the agreement through Dec. 31, 2029. Trustee McCabe moved the extension and Trustee Kordecki seconded the motion.

The vote came amid public scrutiny. Christine Jackson, a resident, said the position description and contract records appear outdated and inconsistent and urged the Board to ensure the Administrator is held to the written duties: “it is all kind of wonky because it says that he is entering this contract for a period of three years ending on December 31, 2024,” she said, urging an open-records request for clarification. Quentin Jackson later alleged the Administrator was repeatedly listed on police reports and had improper communications with outside attorneys; Administrator Kerkman repeatedly declined to comment during those remarks. The board approved the extension despite these public concerns.
