Kemper says PRC will reserve weekdays for local use, monetize weekends

Kemper's operations team told the board the PRC calendar will prioritize local community access during the week and reserve weekends for revenue-generating events. "Typically, the way that these types of facilities operate, Monday through Thursday is reserved for local community use," the operator said, adding Fridays through Sundays are the primary windows to host tournaments that drive the facility's revenue.

Commissioners asked about rate-setting and oversight; one commissioner noted the Fair Board has already approved a rate card for local uses. The Kemper team said the rate card was built with ranges to allow negotiation and to preserve affordable community options such as open-gym sessions while leaving room for negotiated rates for larger events and gate fees.

Kemper also described partnerships with local hotels and a plan to pursue room-block commissions and sponsorship revenue as ancillary streams. The presenters emphasized collaborative scheduling with existing venues to avoid unnecessary displacement of local programming.
