Volunteer organizer asks Selectboard to honor donors' intent for Safe Cycling funds
Volunteer cycling educator Linda Howes told the Selectboard the privately donated Safe Cycling Campaign funds were intended primarily to buy four state-law bike signs, with a remaining balance of $588.64 for programs; she asked the Board to consider allowing purchased materials to be shared with regional education partners rather than being stored in town.

Linda Howes, a volunteer cycling educator with the Bike Walk Alliance of New Hampshire, presented the Safe Cycling Campaign’s results and asked the Board to respect the donors’ intent for leftover tangible items. She said the funds were “intended primarily for the four State law bike signs, with remaining funds, the ‘stretch goal’ going towards Kids Bike Rodeos and Smart Cycling classes for adults.” The campaign raised donations from Springfield and nine surrounding towns; Linda told the Board she is willing to help organize a bike rack project if the Board will consider that use for remaining funds.
