Airport manager: AWOS reception strong but sensor failure leaves some data offline

Airport Manager Linda Steiner updated the advisory board that Bay Bridge Airport’s Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) is providing good radio reception for pilots but that one sensor has failed. "The radio issue remains solved with people continuing to report good reception well over 10 miles out from the airport," Steiner said, adding that the failed sensor provides dewpoint, temperature and density-altitude readings.
