Planning Commission approves Oasis Commercial Center amendment and parcel map

The Planning Commission approved an amendment to the Oasis Commercial Center permit (AMND2020266) and a related parcel map (PM-2000991) for EP2 Redding Oasis LLC, after staff presented an addendum to the April 2005 environmental impact report and proposed updates to permit conditions. Staff recommended approval subject to the draft conditions, including several updated avoidance and minimization measures.

Associate planner Danny Castro summarized staff's recommendation and the changes staff proposes to the conditions. "An addendum to the EIR has been completed for the project. Appropriate mitigation measures remain incorporated and additional avoidance and minimization measures added to the conditions of approval," Castro said. The presentation emphasized that the amendment reduces the project's footprint and retains an intermittent creek corridor rather than filling it, which staff said reduced environmental impacts compared with the original plan.

During the meeting a public representative for the ownership group spoke in support, and commissioners then moved and seconded staff's recommendation. The chair called the vote; the motion carried with aye votes and no recorded opposition. The record does not list an individual vote-by-name; the commission then closed public comment and adjourned.
