DA highlights special victims unit and ICAC task force successes; asks for fractional rural prosecutor support
The DA said the Special Victims Unit carries substantially higher workload than peer offices and that a new ICAC prosecutor has produced two stings and more defendants than anticipated; the office requested a 0.333 prosecutor to sustain operations in rural Lincoln County.

George Brockler told commissioners the Special Victims Unit (SBU) handles far more cases per prosecutor than comparable units in Arapahoe, Denver and other metro offices, and that recent ICAC operations produced unexpectedly large results. "These folks for the metro area have 75% more cases than their counterparts," Brockler said, and credited an ICAC prosecutor for launching a task force that ran two stings and produced more defendants than expected.
