Residents request sidewalks, traffic-calming and after-school programs

Julian Barclay proposed finishing the paved path between Upper and Lower Huachuca City so children and residents could reach the library and Activity Center without walking on the road, and he urged neighborhood cleanup of debris. Councilmember Danielle Cardella and other residents requested traffic-calming measures — signage and speed bumps on local streets — and improvements to the steep Skyline hill road.

Nallely Arreola asked the town to consider after-school child care and programming for children who cannot be left alone after school. SEAGO noted that pedestrian connections and public-safety improvements can be eligible CDBG activities if the project demonstrably benefits low- and moderate-income residents and meets national objective tests; council agreed to include these ideas on the compiled candidate list.
