OSU research spotlight: NIH awards $7 million to engineered-protein lab

Provost Roy Haggerty introduced Dr. Ryan Mehl, whose GCE4All Research Center received a $7 million NIH award to extend the lab's work translating engineered-protein technology for medical use; trustees heard the lab expanded in 2022 and will continue for five more years under the grant.

The minutes state the lab expanded in 2022 with NIH support and that “The NIH recently provided $7 million to fund the lab for five more years.”
