The Sioux County Board of Commissioners approved and signed a Disaster Declaration for a timber fire that burned on May 31, 2026. The motion to sign the declaration was made by Commissioner Hal Downer and seconded by Commissioner J.W. Geiser; the roll call vote was unanimous (Geiser yes; Downer yes; Skavdahl yes).
