Sioux County Board upholds decisions after hearing 92 property valuation protests

The Sioux County Board of Equalization heard testimony on 92 protested parcels on July 22, 2026, reviewed evidence submitted by property owners and made final decisions on all protests; decisions will be placed in each property record and mailed to protesters.

The Sioux County Board of Commissioners, sitting as the Board of Equalization, met July 22, 2026, in Harrison to hear 2026 real property valuation protests and made final determinations on the cases before it. Chairman Joshua Skavdahl presided; Commissioners J.W. Geiser and Hal Downer, County Clerk and Ex-Officio Assessor Michelle Zimmerman and Deputy County Clerk/Assessor JoElla Norman were present. County Clerk Michelle Zimmerman read the 2026 Protest Evidence Listing into the record and said, "92 parcels were filed for protest."
