Mosaic Aviation proposal revised after AVCON flags Part 77 siting concerns

AVCON reviewed a proposed hangar facility from Mosaic Aviation LLC and returned the exhibit with siting corrections after concluding the preliminary layout encroached on Part 77 protected surfaces and was too close to the runway. "New project proposed to airport with 2 new hangers with parking lot from Mosaic, received and reviewed by AVCON, had corrections on their proposal, preliminary was too close to runway, penetrating Part 77 Protected Services," the staff report states.

Separately, AVCON updated the board that the Flight School Hangar B100 Categorical Exclusion had been submitted to FAA and remained under FAA review; no FAA approval was reported in the meeting. The board asked for additional details from Mosaic about the intended use (manufacture/assembly versus aviation operations), and city staff cautioned the company may not receive city assistance if the proposed facility's intended activities conflicted with airport land‑use expectations or funding constraints.
