Stormwater task force sets regular meeting for 2nd Wednesday, 5–7 p.m.

The task force settled on a regular monthly meeting schedule to coordinate work with the Board of County Commissioners and to allow staff time for agendas and materials. After discussion of alternatives — including every-other-week meetings and avoiding holiday conflicts — members voted to meet the second Wednesday of each month from 5 to 7 p.m., with the first scheduled date identified as Sept. 9.

Members discussed locations and public access. Joe Ortiz proposed larger rooms such as CVIC Hall for capacity, but county staff noted that CVIC is not county-owned and would require payment; the staff liaison (Wendy Lang) said she would check county facilities including the community and senior center and the rec center. Staff also warned that offering Zoom and livestreaming is labor-intensive and may require outside contractors when used consistently. The staff-provided public email for the task force is stfpubliccomment@douglasnv.us and will be used to gather public input and backup material for agendas.
