Itasca County opens Outdoor Recreation Plan draft for public comment; hearings scheduled in July
The county approved a public review schedule for the updated Itasca County Outdoor Recreation Plan: draft posted July 10, comment period July 10–Aug 10, public meetings July 15, 16 and 23, and a Board adoption hearing set for Sept. 1, 2026.

The Itasca County Board accepted a schedule and public engagement plan to update the county’s Outdoor Recreation Plan. Staff will post the draft plan on July 10, 2026, open a public comment period from July 10 through August 10, and hold informational meetings on July 15 (Bigfork), July 16 (Nashwauk) and July 23 (Grand Rapids). The board set a public hearing and consideration for adoption on September 1, 2026.
