Board grants 120‑day extension after fire‑damaged steel frame found repairable

The Collier County Code Enforcement Board on Aug. 27 granted a 120‑day extension to H G G Management LLC to complete repairs and inspections to a structure damaged in a 2022 fire.

Respondent counsel Cameron Woodward said the steel columns were removed for laboratory testing and have been reinstalled, permits reissued and inspections begun. "So our motion is for an extension of time for 120 days," Woodward said. County staff investigator Adam Collier reported a recent inspection on Aug. 4 had passed and said the county had no objection to a reasonable extension: "We wouldn't have any objection to a reasonable extension of time." The board voted unanimously to grant the extension and assessed the usual operational cost to be paid within 30 days.

Why it matters: the extension allows the property owner time to complete permit‑based work after a fire that prompted a county stop‑work order. The board recorded that inspections have already commenced and that staff expect the project to move forward under current permits.

What happens next: the respondent must continue work under issued permits, request inspections as they are ready and return to the board if additional time or action is required.
