Commissioners approve state Homeland Security grant to fund basic trauma and threat-response training
Fremont County approved a State Homeland Security Program grant to fund scaled trainings — CPR, AED, bleeding control and trauma response — and to bring a trainer for threat-response exercises; staff estimated the local share would put roughly $18,000 toward training and equipment.

Heather Holbrook, assistant coordinator for Fremont County Emergency Management, told the board the grant application (submitted by her predecessor) had been revised to focus on scaled, practical trainings rather than a full-scale drill. "That is just a little bit of a change of how the grant was originally submitted," she said, and explained the program would include CPR, AED and stop-the-bleed training and a trainer for threat-response drills.
