Commissioner Mitchell urges restoring Osceola under Mid Michigan Community Action for Head Start access
Commissioner Mitchell told the board she wants Osceola County to regain direct representation under Mid Michigan Community Action so local families can access Head Start services currently available to neighboring counties.

Commissioner Mitchell reported on recent meetings with the director of the Michigan Community Action Agency and urged the board to pursue restored representation for Osceola County. "I would like to see us get back under the umbrella of mid Michigan community action," she said, explaining that Head Start for 4-year-olds currently applies only to Clare and Gladwin counties and Osceola lacks the same direct coverage.
