Commission allocates state fire protection funds equally and amends Water Advisory Committee bylaws
Jefferson County commissioners approved equal allocations of FY25 State Fire Protection funds ($16,792.74 each to seven volunteer fire departments), approved budget transfers to cover a Social Services Liaison, and amended Water Advisory Committee bylaws with a 3–2 vote on an amendment requiring three county-resident public members.

Chief Financial Officer David Bound presented multiple budget actions. The commission approved equally allocating FY25 State Fire Protection funds to the county’s seven volunteer fire departments at $16,792.74 apiece. Commissioner Stolipher also moved and the commission approved an internal budget transfer of $2,832.13 to cover the Social Services Liaison position for FY25 and an external stability-fund transfer of $26,707.50 to pay legal fees; both motions passed unanimously.
