The Webb County Commissioners Court voted July 27 to authorize a forensic audit of the Sheriff's Office financial records and accounts covering Jan. 1, 2020 forward. General counsel Nathan Bratton said the court would issue a request for qualifications for an independent certified public accountant to perform a forensic review and that the audit will examine financial records and transactions from the stated start date.
