Webb County Commissioners Court voted to terminate the existing architectural services contract for the courthouse historic preservation project after a technical review by the historic commission identified deficiencies in the firm's submission. The consultant, addressed by the court as Mr. Chiles, said he had completed a 650‑page report but had medical issues that delayed final revisions and requested 60 more days to finish the work.
