Webb County: no qualified applicants yet for utilities director; wage and classification review ordered

Monica Flores (Human Resources) told the court that the utilities-director posting, open since September 2024, produced seven applications but "none of them qualify at this point based on the requirements we have at this time." Flores and commissioners discussed whether the county should relax certain licensing requirements for the director-level position (Class C licenses are more commonly required for plant operators rather than directors) and whether increasing salary would attract qualified candidates.
