Library Director Gina Lawrence recommended James Halstead to fill a four‑year vacancy on the Chanute Public Library Board of Trustees after Dean Parsons decided not to seek another term. Lawrence described Halstead’s teaching and accounting experience and said he is an avid library user and willing to serve.
