Commission orders uniform format, background page for Buda action plan

Commissioners spent substantial time on formatting and structure for the Age‑Friendly Action Plan, arguing that a consistent format will make the plan more usable. Multiple members recommended a one‑page executive summary followed by a background page that houses the community assessment, walkability summary and listening‑session results so the main plan focuses on action items.

One commissioner said they preferred combining the introduction and background into a single section. “I agree too that it should just be 1, and I'm thinking background,” a committee member said during the discussion. Staff agreed to rename headings, center the executive summary, correct capitalization and replace 'senior' with 'older adults' wherever appropriate. The commission also asked staff to add responsibility designations (e.g., 'commission' or 'city staff') rather than individual names, and to include hyperlinks or appendices for referenced reports on the City website.
