River Ridge Board awards $1.11 million drainage contract to Clark Construction

The River Ridge Community Development District Board on April 28 approved The Clark Construction Group, Inc.'s bid to complete four stormwater management phases — Oak Run, Turnberry, Palmetto Dunes and Seaside IV — under a not‑to‑exceed contract of $1,111,860, including an additional 5% contingency.

Board members discussed bid details and unit‑cost items such as tree removal, shrub replanting and the capping of existing golf course drainage systems. District Engineer Charlie Krebs told supervisors the contractor will provide tallies so staff can verify unit counts against invoices. Board discussion noted that the additional 5% contingency was added on top of a 15% contractor contingency to cover unknown costs; this raised the Grand Total from $1,058,914.45 to $1,111,860.

The bid package also included an optional allowance for the Oak Run Homeowners Association to connect roof drains at a quoted cost of $197,201.47 if the HOA chooses to proceed; the Board noted that the CDD included the HOA figure because it was a better rate than the HOA could obtain independently. The motion to award the contract was made by Mr. Blumenthal, seconded by Mr. Mountford, and carried "with all in favor."
