Council backs Tree Board effort to apply for ash-tree removal grant

Council Member Julie Kalkwarf asked the council to pursue a grant to remove ash trees and plant replacements on public property, reporting the city counted "around 51 ash trees on city (public) property" and that she counted about "440 in total in town." City Manager/Clerk Cody Nicholas said he has discussed the opportunity with Tree Board Chair Dirk van der Linden and that the Tree Board will apply for the grant.
