Legislature authorizes $9.24M in settlements from Insurance Reserve Fund

The Suffolk County Legislature approved I.R.1622 to appropriate funds from the Insurance Reserve Fund to the Self Insurance Fund to cover a set of legal settlements. County counsel reported the principal amount as "Nine million, two hundred forty thousand, one hundred seventy-eight," and the director said the bulk was for the Valva settlement with additional smaller amounts previously approved by the Ways & Means Committee.
