Evergreen Elementary construction on schedule, board hears

The board received a construction update on the Evergreen Elementary project. A project presenter said the work "is moving along extraordinarily well," reporting footings and formwork in place, prefabrication beginning soon and that the 100% design development set has been received. The presenter told the board three contract amendments have been executed and that GMP 3 — the guaranteed maximum price that will encompass the full project budget — will be presented at the next meeting.

Board members and staff discussed schedule risk and commissioning plans. The presenter said 90% construction documents are scheduled for Oct. 19 and 100% CDs are expected mid to late December; commissioning will occur substantially before occupancy and continue during occupancy. Superintendent Dr. Wenzel and staff emphasized that the summer work reduced schedule risk but cautioned that the planned occupancy timeline leaves little float, so partners are actively monitoring long‑lead procurements and contingencies.
