Emergency management seeks $84,821 EMPG authorization from Lee County
Miss Bridal Smith asked the commission to allow the judge to sign an Emergency Management Performance Grant agreement for $84,821 covering 10/01/2025–09/30/2026; she said the funds must be used for emergency management and the county meets the conditions to receive them.

At the work session the commission heard a request from Miss Bridal Smith to authorize county acceptance of an Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) and allow the judge to sign the agreement. "This is, my request for you to y'all to allow judge to sign our EMPG agreement to receive $84,821," she said, adding that the funds flow from the federal government to the state and then to the county if the county meets the grant's requirements.
