The Senate opened its legislative business with a slate of bill and resolution introductions. The reading clerk announced a bill by Senators Elliott and Turner to enact a Municipal Tax Relief Act authorizing certain municipalities to impose up to a 1% sales tax to provide property tax relief for owner‑occupied homes and finance specified projects; the bill was referred to the Labor, Commerce, and Industry Committee.
