Council approves Lakeside sludge removal permit application
The council approved a permit application to allow sludge from the Lakeside plant to be hauled to Easton Utilities; the developer will be financially responsible for costs and the town must hold the permit in both names where discharge permits overlap.

James Cook of Rauch told the council the Lakeside plant requires sludge removal every six to eight months and that the town’s existing permit allows hauling sludge from Easton Utilities to Trappe but not the reverse. The town submitted an application to permit hauling sludge from Lakeside to Easton Utilities and the council approved the application; the developer will cover associated costs.
