Council introduced Ordinance 12-2026, which would create a temporary moratorium — up to two years — on acceptance, processing and permitting of data-center projects, including construction and operation of facilities used primarily for data storage, server farms, AI training/processing, cloud computing and related uses. The Planning Commission recommended the measure after public comment and the council advanced the ordinance by motion to be considered for adoption at a future meeting.
