Assembly accepts AARP Community Challenge grant for rec center accessibility
Skagway accepted an AARP Community Challenge Grant to fund accessibility improvements at the recreation center. Rec center director Jason Verhaeg credited senior activities coordinator Leah Kalis for writing the grant that placed Skagway among 500 awarded communities.

The Assembly voted to accept an AARP Community Challenge Grant to fund accessibility improvements at the Skagway Recreation Center. The motion, made by Assemblymember Potter and seconded by Assemblymember Henry, passed 5–0.
